mintsmoothie What can I say. Sometimes a girl just needs a little chocolate to help wake her up in the morning. Chocolate, country music, and beautiful views from Tumbleweed Farm can really help jump-start the day! mthooda.m How many of you are morning people? I must admit, most mornings when the alarm clock goes off I want to hit snooze for the rest of the day. However, once we are out the door (and fully caffeinated)  I am constantly amazed at how much peace comes over me. No matter how groggy I may feel in the early morning, I am somehow optimistic about the day that lies ahead. metay6:13 This particular (chilly) morning we had bellies full of a delicious smoothie and were hard at work harvesting for another farmers market. mefarm We had another successful farmers market this afternoon in Hood River. It was a bit chilly and the wind was a out of control, however, we still managed to have a good time. mintsmoothie I think this smoothie had a lot to do with how happy and productive we were. What can I say, we all deserve a little chocolate in the morning. Grab a straw and slurp this puppy up!

mint-cacao banana smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 TBS organic unsweetened cacao powder
  • 8-10 small fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup organic rice milk (or your favorite smoothie milk)
  • a few handfuls of crushed ice

Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender and blent until smooth.
  2. Enjoy!
