Peach Jalapeño Margaritas
My summer peach obsession continues. And now that these margaritas have entered the picture things are getting crazy!
Lucky for us one of our lovely CSA members farms/owns Mountain View Orchards right up the street and she gave us a huge box of peaches. I've managed to eat my body weight in fresh peaches and believe it or not, that hasn't even put a dent in this huge box we have. Thank god we are usually thirsty at the end of the farm day. Farm fresh margaritas have never tasted so damn good!
These cocktails have a lovely balance of spicy-sweet. They are the perfect refreshment after a long day in the fields. I'm so addicted to the flavor combination that I'm planning on making a peach jalapeño chutney this weekend since the farm is overflowing with hot peppers and we still have a ton of peaches to work through.
I hope you all appreciate a little "sweet-heat" in your cocktails. It's almost the weekend and you all deserve a refreshing drink. Grab a straw and enjoy!

Bee Naughty Peach Jalapeño Margaritas
Ingredients
For the margaritas:
- 3 large ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1 cup silver tequila
- 2 Tablespoons triple sec
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice + more to taste
- 2-3 ice cubes
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cup water
- 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and cut into thin rounds
- sliced jalapeños
- sliced peaches
- lime wedges
- salted rim
Preparation
- Prepare the simple syrup by combining the honey, water and peppers in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a simmer (don't boil) and simmer for about 3 minutes stirring often until honey and water are well combined. Remove from heat and cool. Strain the peppers and set aside.
- Combine 1/2 of the simple syrup with the margarita ingredients in a blender. Whirl away until smooth. Taste test and if it needs a little more "sweet-heat" add the remainder of the syrup. Blend again until smooth. Pour over ice and enjoy with an extra squeeze of lime juice, fresh peach slices and jalapeño slices. Cheers!
